Join a Group:

When you join Hastings & Rother u3a, you unlock entry to 70+ interest groups ranging from Art Appreciation to Walking. Once you’ve left full-time employment, it’s an opportunity to meet new people in a friendly environment. Most of our groups meet in members’ homes, but also in cafes and community rooms.

Below you’ll find a group list with days and times. Please refer to the printed groups list you were sent when you joined, which contains convenors' contact details. If you can’t find your list, it’s no problem; just contact the Groups Co-ordinator, and they will send you a copy. If a group has no vacancies, it might be worthwhile to contact the convenor and ask if there’s a waiting list.

PLEASE REMEMBER YOU MUST BE A FULLY PAID-UP MEMBER BEFORE JOINING A GROUP. This is partly for insurance and legal reasons, but also to ensure that everyone is paying a fair share to support our u3a.

Our convenors act as coordinators – unofficial organisers – of their groups; they are all ordinary members of Hastings & Rother u3a.

If you have a special interest or skill you’d like to explore and share, or any group that you would like to start up, please consider becoming a convenor. Our experienced Groups Coordinator would be pleased to guide you and lend support to get you and your group up and running. We can help you find interested members, a venue if necessary, and help get you organised. Some groups use co-convenors to share and support activities. It might seem daunting at first, but help is on hand for as long as you need it. Running a group is a great way to make friends as well as a rewarding experience, knowing you’re giving back to your community. To find more information about the group, click on the blue link.
