Non U3A Opportunities

The Sara Lee Trust The Sara Lee Trust has been supporting local people who are living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses, and their families and carers for over 20 years. The Trust is also the dedicated provider of these services to patients of St Michael’s Hospice (St Leonards on Sea) and the Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital and supports over 700 people each year, many of whom are receiving end-of-life care.

The charity is almost totally reliant on fundraising, voluntary donations and charity retail and currently operates seven charity shops across Hastings and Rother which stock a wide range of donated goods, the sale of which help fund our essential services.

We are desperately appealing for new volunteers to consider joining our team. If you would like to find out more – please visit our website www.saraleetrust.org to see the full range of voluntary opportunities currently available with the Trust, or if you would like to speak to someone call 01424 272 358 for charity retail or 01424 456 608 for general volunteering queries.

St Michaels Hospice

At St Michael's Hospice, we support and enable the community of Hastings and Rother to live well with dying, death and loss.

We work alongside patients, families and carers to understand what matters most to them and provide personalised care, support and advice that adapts to their changing needs. Our services include specialist palliative and end of life care, wellbeing support, bereavement services and compassionate community initiatives that help people feel supported when they need it most.

Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. More than 500 volunteers support the Hospice in a wide variety of roles, from helping in our charity shops and supporting fundraising events to assisting our clinical and support services. Their time, skills and compassion help us reach more people across Hastings and Rother.

Volunteer Shop Supervisors

Our shops located in Hastings, St Leonards, Sidley, Battle, Bexhill and Rye are a vital lifeline for St Michael’s Hospice, raising funds that help care for patients and support families across our community.

We are looking for Volunteer Shop Supervisors to support the Shop Manager, help coordinate volunteer teams and keep things running smoothly during busy periods.

A great opportunity to build confidence, develop new skills and make a real difference in your local community.

If you are interested, please contact the Voluntary Services Team or pop into one of our shops for a chat with the shop manager.

Without our volunteers, we simply could not provide the level of care and support that our community relies on. Interested in joining our volunteer team? Contact Voluntary Services Team  01424 457962 / volunteering@stmichaelshospice.com
