Who can join ?

Anyone in their ‘Third Age’ – no longer in full-time employment who is ready for something new can join. Perhaps there’s a hobby or interest you’ve always wanted to try but haven’t as yet. Our groups are run by our members for our members and we are always looking for members to open new groups. We currently have over 70 groups.

Hastings & Rother U3A is an inclusive, volunteer-led organisation which offers group activities, coffee mornings and a diverse program of speakers. We aim to help people stay physically and mentally active, make new friends and just have some fun with like-minded individuals. We offer an opportunity to pursue a diverse range of activities at very little cost in a sociable and friendly environment. No qualifications are required and none are given.

We alternate monthly Speakers meetings venues between Hastings and Bexhill and hold monthly Coffee mornings in Hastings and Bexhill (for details of our 2026 Speaker program please see the Events tab above).

You are welcome to attend our Coffee Mornings at any time and one Speaker meeting free before deciding to join us.

There is a quarterly newsletter and a national magazine as well.

Click on the video “Do Something Brilliant Today” to see national U3A groups in action or look at the local publicity leaflet.
