Crochet has enjoyed a huge resurgence in popularity in the last few years and is now seen as a must-have skill.   With just six basic stitches you will be able to create a huge range of crocheted items, from blankets to toys,  flowers to jewellery and much more.  As well as creating lovely items from yarn, crochet has many other benefits.

*· The rhythmic , repetitive movements and focus are meditative, helping to reduce stress and anxiety.

*· Completing a crochet project, from simple to complex is very satisfying and boosts self-esteem and confidence through the sense of achievement.

*· Learning new stitches and patterns provides a cognitive challenge, helping to keep the mind sharp and improve memory.

*· Following patterns and troubleshooting issues during a project engages cognitive  functions, helping brain health.

*· The precise and repetitive movement of the fingers and hands enhance fine motor skills, dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

*· Crocheting can be a communal activity, offering opportunities to connect with others who share the hobby.

Whether you have been crocheting for decades, or are a complete novice, I hope this group will encourage us all to develop our crochet skills, try new techniques and work on small creative projects together.
