If a member is disabled and has a carer the carer will be able to be present in the group under the following circumstances:
No additional cost for carers: U3A usually does not charge carers for attending activities alongside the disabled member.

- Duty of care: The U3A has a duty of care to all members and may need to assess an individual's ability to participate in activities, potentially involving the member and their carer in discussions and risk assessments.
- Accessibility: U3A aims to make groups as accessible as reasonably possible for all members, including those with disabilities.
